Dear Parents and Players,
 Medina "Sting" is a baseball program here in Medina that tries to identify the most talented youth baseball players and then gives them an opportunity to play baseball in a highly competitive league. Our national affiliation is the AABC (American Amateur Baseball Congress). Our local affiliation is the CVBA (Cuyahoga Valley Baseball Association). Boys participating in CVBA baseball leagues will travel all over Northeastern Ohio playing top teams from other communities. Last year there were approximately 200 teams playing in the CVBA from the nine-year-old level through the high school level. A typical season consists of at least 30 games. Teams qualifying at the end of the season have the opportunity to attend tournaments at the state and national level. It is now time for this organization to try and identify who the best local talent is. We will be conducting an open tryout for next year's teams on Saturday, August 7, 2004 at Reagan Park, fields #4, #5, and #6. A second tryout date will be announced if necessary. If we are completely rained out on August 7, 2004 a rain makeup will be held on Saturday, August 14, 2004. The same timetables will apply. Each player wishing to tryout is to bring his baseball glove and bat. Players should wear a baseball cap and baseball pants or sweatpants … no shorts please. Any parent wishing to apply for the Manager position for the next year's nine year-old team should contact Tom McGill at the number listed above. All candidates will be asked to participate in an interview process. Manager selection will have been made prior to the day tryouts are conducted. Persons interested in interviewing for Manager must contact Tom McGill by July 15, 2004.
