Diamond Notes07/12/10 - CONGRATULATIONS TO THE PLAYOFF CHAMPS, the TIGERS led by Coach Darryl Gormley and Steve Radabaugh. The TIGERS came out on top against the As in a nail-biting, great defensive battle. Fabulous plays by both teams, worthy of ESPN coverage. The As held the Tigers scoreless in the first two innings with strong defense, including great catches by Brandon Zacharias and Benjamin Davis, and a diving belly catch by Spencer Bellina at Pitcher that left the scorekeepers and announcers in a cloud of dust, followed by an exciting 3rd inning offensive streak by the TIGERS. The As looked like they would rally back in the fifth, which was stopped with a key double play by the TIGERS for a 6-4 victory. Just as the game ended, a rainbow appeared in the sky for the closing ceremony, and both teams unknowingly ended up at the local Dairy Queen (one of our valued sponsors) and were swapping "war stories" over ice cream and smiles. Could not have asked for a better ending!!!
Congratulations and have a safe and happy remainder of summer!!!!!!!!
